Hi, I'm
JahiemSharma-ManleyAllen
I build things, solve problems, and occasionally create new ones by accident. I’m a Computer Science student at York University focused on backend and cloud, with a particular interest in turning messy problems into systems that just work.

Achievements
I'm a third-year Computer Science student in the Cloud Computing stream at York University’s Lassonde School of Engineering, graduating in April 2028. Outside of coursework in data structures, algorithm design, and software architecture, I like building things that solve real problems.
I’ve worked on backend systems ranging from containerized microservices to platforms handling tens of thousands of requests and serving thousands of users. I enjoy creating software and turning them into reliable, practical systems.

My Journey
Backend Engineer
Jan. 2026 – Apr. 2026Hatchloom
- ▸Architected a containerized PHP microservices architecture using Docker, applying Adapter and Strategy design patterns to enforce service boundaries across a distributed application.
- ▸Designed a DTO-based contract layer for inter-service communication, eliminating schema drift and improving reliability across services.
- ▸Built a GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline automating test, build, and deployment workflows, including multi-architecture Docker image builds for amd64 and arm64.
- ▸Diagnosed and resolved cross-service failures in a distributed container environment, including DNS resolution, networking, and state consistency issues.
- ▸Enforced API contracts and failure handling to stabilize service interactions and reduce runtime inconsistencies.
Technical Director
Dec. 2024 – Sept. 2026Markham Student Council
- ▸Led development of a Cloudflare-backed platform using Next.js, serving 144,000+ requests across 7,000+ visits through optimized caching and request delivery.
- ▸Reduced LCP from 5.8s to 600ms by implementing media optimization with Cloudflare R2 and image transformations.
- ▸Coordinated technical decisions with a team of 6, managing deployments, feature rollouts, and platform updates for student-facing services.
President, Computing Students Hub Markham
Sept. 2025 – Sept. 2026York University
- ▸Lead an executive team of 8+ overseeing initiatives and operations for a 100+ member community.
- ▸Organized a meet-and-greet with 34 registered students and 20+ attendees, managing outreach and event logistics.
